Malfunctioning of Katrina’s saree at time of shooting with Akshay Kumar

Hard time Director Priyadarshan and choreographer Pony Verma when at time of rain song shooting with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, Katrina’s saree shrunk more than it should. Due to the long shoot in rain, Katrina was completely wet and at one point of time her saree went so high that her long leg totally exposed. On looking at the strange scene, the crewmembers just kept their eyes away from Katrina.

Since the rain dance is very hot and sexy so that makers at first decided to take long shots but due to Katrina saree malfunction, they decided to take close-ups only. About the incident, Pony Verma said, “Yes, a costume error happened with Katrina’s saree. Therefore, we shot mostly close-ups. At the end of the day, the result was far better than we had imagined it.”

Katrina is at ease with the incident and reply that it just one of those things that happen during shoots.

Newyork broken all records of 2009

Yash Raj films' New York, which released worldwide on June 26, has gross income of Rs 35 crore in its three-day first weekend.

The film has broken down all previous opening weekend collection records for 2009, a Yash Raj Films press release said.

"Yash Raj Films ended 2008 with its maximum grossing film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and has started 2009 with a bang," the release said.

The movie has also had an striking opening across all markets.

'New York' has opened at the third slot on the Australian charts and at the tenth spot in the UK this weekend. The movie has also been the top weekend earner in the UAE for 2009.

Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film stars John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan Khan and is released in over 900 screens worldwide.

Review of Bollywood movie "Newyork"

The scenes in the movie highly reminded of what we have seen earlier. John's first scene saw him doing a Shah Rukh Khan (in Main Hoon Na) in the New York State University campus racing with a guy to pull the string of the American flag on the roof, although this time there was no near casualties. The pub scenes looked highly inspired by Karan Johar's Kal Ho Na Ho. John doing the building stunt reminded me of Hrithik in Lakshya. And Irrfan interrogating Neil was, well, let's just say he has been doing the FBI-slash-Police-Detective-slash-Inspector routine for quite some films now, notably Slumdog Millionaire, A Mighty Heart etc.

New York might be able to do business for the first few weeks but it will not have a big shelf life. It is no epic movie and nothing about the movie is what will make you watch it again. It's a one time watch. The song, 'Hai Junoon...' although will stay for some time.

Hence, the movie is not a college romance, nor is it an intense fast action thriller. It is a mixture of both. It's predictable and yet, you wouldn't still be ready to sleep while watching the film. It has it's moments of laughter and excitement although thinly.

So, if you go to watch the movie, that is if you really have a thing for Katrina or John or Neil, then, you should have your popcorn in the first half, because the second half becomes intense and you might block.

Salman Khan is not single anymore

Salman Khan is not single. He made this announcement loud and clear during his Sony TV’s show Dus Ka Dum

Playing Dus Ka Dum with Salman was Mallika Sherawat. And while Salman is famous for throwing googlies at his guests on the show, it seems Mallika was a tad too much for him to handle.

While Salman may have thought he will put Mallika in a tight spot by asking her personal questions, it was Salman who ended up being caught in the web. He had admitted that he is not single anymore.

Now is it because of Salman’s loyalties towards Miss Katrina Kaif or does he simply want to keep Mallika at bay?

Salman - Katrina's relationship going sour!

All is still not well between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The news of the cold war between the two was first broken few days back. In past few months the stories of break up which, spoke at length of the growing rift between Salman and Katrina has been making the rounds. Bollwood sources say the relationship has further soured to an extent that, when Salman was recently shooting for movie Veer in Jodhpur, the two were not even call each other..
